The Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation says partnerships and cost-reflective tariffs are vital in improving access to safe and reliable water services.
Water Development and Sanitation Minister, Collins Nzovu, emphasized that collaboration between commercial utilities and private sector players is key to enhancing efficiency and expanding water services, particularly in underserved rural areas.
Speaking on developments in Luapula Province, Mr. Nzovu commended ongoing initiatives being implemented by Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited in partnership with 4Ward Development Zambia Limited.
Under the arrangement, 4Ward Development Zambia Limited is providing technical expertise and operational support to ensure consistent water supply, timely infrastructure maintenance, and improved service delivery to communities.
Mr. Nzovu noted that the initiative is also contributing to increased water connections in underserved areas.
This is according to a statement made available to ZNBC News by Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation Principal Public Relations Officer, Prince Chiyuni.
