UPND Condemns Attack on Journalist in Chilanga

By Wilson Mulinda

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has condemned the attack on a journalist by suspected cadres in Chilanga’s Linda area.

UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe said the party will conduct internal investigations and institute disciplinary action against those identified if found to have been involved. He stressed that such behavior is unacceptable and contrary to the party’s principles of upholding the rule of law.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Simuuwe reiterated President Hakainde Hichilema’s stance that anyone who breaks the law does so at their own risk and must face legal consequences without exception.

Meanwhile, Mr. Simuuwe has also noted that the reopening of Zambia China Mulungushi Textiles will deliver massive economic benefits in the long run.

And UPND Deputy Secretary General Getrude Imenda said the party is shocked by verbal attacks on Monze Central Member of Parliament Jack Mwiimbu, following his expression of interest to contest in a new constituency within Monze District.
