Cancer Diseases Hospital Records Landmark Surgery

Medical specialists at the Cancer Diseases Hospital (CDH) in Lusaka have successfully removed an 11.8‑kilogram mass from a patient with ovarian cancer.
According to statement posted on Facebook, the hospital says the complex debulking procedure, which began at 09:30 hours, showcased precision, teamwork, and life‑saving intervention.
The statement says a Debulking surgery is a critical component in the management of ovarian cancer which inolves removing as much of the tumor as possible to enhance the effectiveness of follow‑up treatments such as chemotherapy.
The Hospital says the operation not only improves the patient’s chances of recovery but also provides symptom relief and a better quality of life.
The Hospital says this achievement underscores the vital role of surgery in cancer care at CDH.
