Israeli Ambassador to Zambia Ofra Farhi says Israel through its Non Governmental Organizations is working to establish an Intensive Care Unit at the University Teaching Hospital in Livingstone.
Ms Farhi says this is to train local medical teams to help transform Zambia into a regional medical hub.
The Israeli Ambassador said this during the 78th Israeli Independence Anniversary in Lusaka.
She said CultivAid, an Israeli NGO is also establishing a professional agricultural training center to ensure that Zambia realizes its immense potential as the region’s breadbasket.
Meanwhile Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at Cabinet Office Professor Luckson Kasonka said the celebration is significant as it marks the first National Day commemoration since the reopening of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Zambia.
