All the 156 Ambulances bought under the Constituency Development Fund have been delivered.

The final batch of 37 are now in the country and distributed to the remaining constituencies.

Speaking during the official handover of the ambulances, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Principal Public Relations Officer Liseli Kanyanga said the latest consignment of 37 concludes the current phase of the government’s ambulance procurement initiative under the CDF programme.

Ms. Kanyanga said the newly delivered units follow an earlier deployment of 119 ambulances that had already been flagged off for distribution.

She said the completion of the fleet demonstrates the government’s continued resolve to enhance emergency medical services and strengthen healthcare delivery systems nationwide.

Ms Kanyama said the ambulances are expected to significantly improve emergency response times, ease the transportation of patients between health facilities .

Meanwhile, Mansa Town Clerk Dr. Josephine Mwanza, a recipient of one of the 37 final ambulances, has praised the government for the delivery of the ambulances.

Dr Mwanza described the development as a major boost to healthcare service provision and emergency response systems in the district.
