Former Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, ALITA MBAHWE, has died.
Inspector General of Police GRAPHEL MUSAMBA confirmed the death in a message of condolence.
Mr. MUSAMBA described the late Ms MBAHWE as a dedicated and professional officer who served the nation and the Zambia Police Service with commitment.
He said her contribution to the growth and administration of the service would remain a lasting legacy and inspire many officers.
Mr. MUSAMBA said in a statement to ZNBC News that the Zambia Police Service had received the news with deep sorrow.
He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, friends, relatives and members of the police service during the mourning period.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
