Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called on leaders to emulate the late Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Lusaka, TELESPHORE MPUNDU, by standing firmly on principle.

Mrs. NALUMANGO said this shortly after signing the book of condolences in honour of the late Archbishop at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus.

She described Archbishop MPUNDU as a man who stood for truth and dedicated his life to serving both the Church and the nation.

The Vice President said the late Archbishop was an honest, God-fearing, and spiritual leader whose contribution to the country would be remembered.

Mrs. NALUMANGO also revealed that Archbishop MPUNDU prayed for her during his final days, saying the gesture reflected his deep spirituality and compassion.

Archbishop Emeritus MPUNDU died last Saturday after an illness.

The funeral Mass and burial are scheduled for tomorrow, May 21, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka.
