The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) says it is in the process of procuring medicine and equipment for the Cancer Diseases Hospital in Ndola, which is currently under construction.
ZAMMSA Director General Dr. Liyoka Liyoka said the agency is working on a robust programme to ensure specialised medicines are made available in health facilities.
He noted that continued stakeholder relations have strengthened drug availability, adding that the target remains 100 percent supply coverage.
Copperbelt Health Director Dr. Charles Mwinuna commended ZAMMSA for ensuring consistent drug availability, disclosing that the 450 health facilities in the province are currently standing at 82 to 96 percent availability.
