The Resolute Party’s KABWE LUPELE has been elected Member of Parliament for Chililabombwe Constituency after defeating former UPND Chililabombwe Member of parliament PAUL KABUSWE.
Mr. NSOFWA received ten thousand nine hundred fifty six votes while Mr. KABUSWE came second with eight thousand nine hundred fifty six votes.
Independent candidate MOSES MWELWA was in third place with one thousand five hundred forty votes, and ABRAHAM SIMPAMBA who is also an independent was in fourth position with one thousand four hundred twenty seven votes.
Citizens First Candidate LOTTIE NGWIRA came fifth with four hundred and twelve votes.
EMMANUEL MULENGA of the Resolute Party – RP -has scooped the Ndola Central Parliamentary seat after beating three other candidates.
Mr MULENGA succeeded with 11,659 votes, while his opponent , FRANK TAYALI of the UPND, got 10,840 votes.
While, Joseph Chilinda of NRPUP came third with 5,469 and CHARLES NGESA Reasoning Assurance Party -RAP – came fourth with 89 votes.
The results were declared around 16:40 hours today by Ndola Central Constituency Returning Officer Fredrick Musonda.
And, speaking after he was declared the winner, Mr MULENGA thanked the people of Ndola Central for voting for him a second time.
He said his priority is to make sure development is shared equally in the Constituency, focusing mostly on empowerment at household level.
