The United Party for National Development -UPND- has scooped all eight wards in Nkeyema Constituency in Western Province.
Nkeyema Constituency Returning Officer, ABRAHAM CHIMBALA has declared results for the Councillors, Council Chairperson and Parliamentary seat.
UPND’s KAPELWA MBANGWETA has been re-elected as Member of Parliament for Nkeyema Constituency after polling 19,031 votes.
RAYFORD CHITOTI of the UPND has also retained the Council Chairperson position after garnering 19,332 votes.
Mr CHIMBALA further declared results for five wards, Lombelombe, Litoya, Munkuye, Shimano and Namilangi with all five seats won by the UPND.
In the remaining three seats of Nkeyema Constituency’s eight wards , the UPND councillors were unopposed .
The declarations were made at the Nkeyema Town Council Civic Centre in Nkeyema District at 18:20 hours today.
