Daniel Bwalya of NRPUP Wins Lukashya Seat

Daniel Bwalya of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) has won the Lukashya Constituency seat in Kasama, defeating seven other contenders.

Returning Officer Evaristo Mulenga declared Mr. Bwalya duly elected at about 18:00 hours.

UPND’s Evol Katongo came second with 5,514 votes, while Independent Howard Mulenga secured 2,091 votes.

Other results saw Frank Bwalya of the Restoration Party polling 2,001 votes, Andrew Mpandamwike of Citizens First 1,421, Independent Morton Mulenga 744, Independent Geoffrey Bweupe 545, and Independent Chongo Muselela 164 votes.

Out of 62,734 registered voters, a total of 29,487 ballots were cast, with 9,099 rejected.
