President Hakainde Hichilema has widened his lead in the 2026 Presidential race, with his tally now standing at 1,056,812 votes.
His closest competitor, NRPUP leader Brian Mundubile, is trailing with 830,841 votes.
The figures are based on results announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) from 105 constituencies out of 226. The Commission says it will release another set of results during an evening session.
Meanwhile, the ECZ has clarified that Kembe East results were read twice due to a duplicated entry in prepared schedules.
ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro explained that the error occurred during the printing of announcement schedules for Commissioner Ndiyoi Mutiti, where Kembe East was listed twice in place of Kembe West.
