The National Heart Hospital has received a Stress Electrocardiogram –ECG- machine from CFB Medical Centre to strengthen cardiac healthcare services in Zambia.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, CFB Medical Centre Chief Medical Officer, ABEL MWALE, said the donation is intended to give hope to patients whose lives depend on timely diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
Dr. MWALE said the National Heart Hospital plays a vital role as Zambia’s only public specialist heart hospital, providing cardiac services to patients from across the country.
He said the donation is CFB Medical Centre’s contribution towards supporting the work of the hospital.
Receiving the equipment, National Heart Hospital Head of Clinical Care, AGNES MTAJA, said the donation reflects a shared commitment to improving the health of Zambians.
Dr. MTAJA said the Stress ECG machine will strengthen evidence-based clinical decision-making and improve the hospital’s capacity to provide specialised cardiac care.
Meanwhile, National Heart Hospital Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, LORRITA KABWE, said the new service will reduce the hospital’s reliance on cardiac investigations conducted outside the public health system.
