$1.3m Strengthening Health Systems Project Launched in Mongu

Western Province Permanent Secretary SIMOMO AKAPELWA says the government will continue to work with cooperating partners to attain universal health coverage.
Mr AKAPELWA has further called on cooperating partners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to support the attainment of universal health coverage through sustainable financing and technical support in the province.
He was speaking during the launch of the strengthening health systems to provide life saving maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition services projects.
The project is aimed at improving infrastructure, water reticulation and lighting systems for maternity units among other things.
The One year project to be implemented in Mongu District, is funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, at a cost of 1.3 million United States dollars.
