Over a thousand youths are expected to undergo Zambia National Service (ZNS) voluntary training, which starts this month.
ZNS Chief of Public Relations and Liaison, Brigadier General Mulenga Nyone, revealed that 75 percent of the renovation, construction, and rehabilitation works at the three identified centers are complete.
General Nyone says the training program is expected to start in the coming weeks, with over a thousand youths scheduled to participate in the first intake.
She was speaking when ZNS Commander, Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, inspected the works at Chiwoko Training School in Katete District, Eastern Province.
Chiwoko is one of the identified centers that will host the program.
General Nyone clarified that the training is not military in nature but focuses on equipping the volunteers with life skills, such as carpentry and tailoring, to enhance their employability.
