Ecobank donates solar panels to Katoba secondary school

Ecobank has donated Solar panels worth 300,000 Kwacha to power Katoba Secondary School in Chongwe District.
The bank has also donated computers and partnered with Infratel to train teachers and pupils in Artificial intelligence -AI- as a way of bridging the gap between pupils and technology.
Speaking during the Ecobank day Celebrations in Chongwe District, Ecobank Managing Director AINA MOORE said to ensure internet connectivity, the Bank has provided the school with StarLink Internet with one year subscription.
And Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI said investing in Education through technology is key in accelerating economic development in the country.
Speaking when he officiated at the event, Mr MUTATI said the government is in a hurry to transform the country using Artificial intelligence -AI-.
Meanwhile, Chongwe Member of Parliament SYLVIA MASEBO said the gesture demonstrates how the government and the private sector are collaborating to drive the education sector.
And Education Permanent Secretary JOEL KAMOKO said the introduction of AI to teachers and pupils at the School will go a long way in enabling access to digital knowledge.
