Mulungushi textiles installing equipment

Installation of the new equipment to revitalize Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe has started.

This follows the ongoing dismantling of the old equipment, which is paving the way for the new equipment in all the three sheds at the company.

Kabwe District Commissioner LENNOX SHIMWAMBWA added that by the end of next month, the 20-Megawatt solar plant to generate power for Mulungushi Textiles will be operational, at an estimated investment of 20 million US Dollars.

In an interview with ZNBC News in Kabwe, Mr. SHIMWAMBWA also said over 25,000 farmers are expected to benefit from the out-grower scheme programme at the plant.

And Zambia-China Mulungushi Textiles Joint Venture General Manager Brigadier-General EMMANUEL SIMENTI said the installation of the new equipment at the processing section is being done in phases.

Brigadier-General SIMENTI said currently, the installation of the new equipment is being done in Shed One to create more space for the other equipment expected to be received.
