By Sharon Siame
Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says 2.3million vulnerable households out of 4 million affected by the drought are covered under social protection.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says this represents close to 60 percent of the population affected by the drought.
He says the World Bank has been at the core of supporting social protection mechanisms to save lives.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said this during the official launch of the Zambia Country Partnership Framework with the World Bank at the Mulungushi International Conference Center in Lusaka today.
And World Bank Country Manager ACHIM FOCK said the Country Partnership Framework 2025 to 2029 is a strategic document that outlines the Bank’s engagement with Zambia.
Mr. FOCK said the document serves as a roadmap for the partnerships with the country and other stakeholders over the next 5 years.
