2 teenagers drown in Kasenengwa

Two teenagers, aged 13 and 16 years, have drowned in separate incidents in Kasenengwa and Chipata Districts in Eastern Province.
Monica Phiri of Singala Village in Kasenengwa District drowned in Chingoma Stream, while Moses Banda of Magazine Compound in Chipata District drowned in Lutembwe Dam Two while fishing.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba said Monica disappeared from home on December 31st last year.
Mr. Mweemba said the body of the deceased was found floating on water last Thursday.
He said police inspected the body and did not suspect any foul play.
Mr. Mweemba said Moses drowned when he failed to swim while casting a fishing net at Lutembwe Dam Two.
He said the body of the deceased was retrieved by Chipata fire brigade officers in conjunction with the police.
