2 Zambian children undergo heart operations in Israel

Two Zambian children have undergone heart operations at Sylvan Adams Children’s Hospital in Israel.
The two, a girl and a boy, were part of nine children with heart complications who were evacuated to Israel by Save A Child’s Heart, an Israeli non-governmental organization.
Mother to one of the children, Jovita Nachula, says she is happy that her child was successfully operated on.
Ms. Nachula told ZNBC News in Tel Aviv that she never thought her child would ever heal from her heart problem, which took her from one Zambian hospital to another.
She said her last engagement with doctors in Zambia was at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, where they recommended her daughter go to Israel for specialist treatment.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Ambassador to Zambia, Ofra Farhi, said the mission by Save A Child’s Heart is saving many children’s lives.
Ms. Farhi disclosed that the organization has sent doctors to the National Heart Hospital in Lusaka to treat 25 children who have heart complications.
