2 Zambian doctors training in Israel

Government has sent two medical doctors from the National Heart Hospital in Lusaka to train as Paediatric cardiac surgeons in Israel.
The country currently has only three surgeons specialised in performing heart operations for children.
National Heart Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent CHABWELA SHUMBA says the training which the two doctors are undergoing in Israel will help reduce the evacuation of children abroad for heart operations.
Dr. SHUMBA says Save A Child’s Heart, an Israeli non-governmental organization is sponsoring the training of Dr. LWARA KALEMBE as a Paediatric Intensivist and Dr. MOONDE MUULU as a Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon.
In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka, Dr. MUULU said the country is currently spending a lot of money in evaluating children to developed countries for surgery.
