The Department of Immigration has apprehended 23 suspected illegal immigrants and refused entry to 19 inadmissible foreign nationals into Zambia.
Among those apprehended between December 30, 2024, and January 2, 2025, were seven Burundians, five Malawians, five Zimbabweans, and three Congolese.
Others included two Rwandese, one Eswatini, a Tanzanian, and a Ugandan.
Immigration Department Spokesperson Namati Nshinka says the alleged offenders will be charged with various offenses relating to illegal entry and unlawful stay.
