3 Teachers arrested for ID money from learners
(ZANIS) The Zambia Police Service have arrested three teachers from Kenneth Kaunda Secondary School in Chinsali District in Muchinga Province for obtaining money by false pretense from learners at the learning institution.
Muchinga Province Deputy Commanding Officer, FRED HAMAAMBA confirmed the development to ZANIS in a press statement.
Mr HAMAAMBA said his office received information that the named teachers were collecting money from learners at the institution meant to print identity cards which should not be the case as the government introduced free education.
He said acting on the matter, police officers visited the school and the office of the District Education Board Secretary -DEBS for further investigations.
The three teachers will appear in court on August 8, 2024.
