45km of road to be constructed in Mazabuka

The Ministry of Local Government And Rural Development has approved the construction of about 45 Kilometers of feeder roads in Mazabuka district costing over 70 Million Kwacha.
Local Government and Rural Development Minister, GARY NKOMBO says feeder roads in Mazabuka district are in a deplorable state.
He says the UPND government is however keen on improving road infrastructure not only for transportation, but accessibility of new avenues for economic growth and social economic empowerment.
Mr. NKOMBO was speaking in Mazabuka during the ground-breaking ceremony of the 9.3 kilometer NEGA NEGA -LUBOMBO road which will cost about 14 million Kwacha.
He has encouraged the contractor, Kaona Suppliers to start work as soon as possible in order to complete the project before the onset of the rains.
And Kaona Suppliers contractor, MARTIN SIKAONA said the road project which will involve grading of roads, construction of a drainage system and installation of culverts will be completed within two months.
