5 sustain injuries in Petauke Accident

Five people have sustained injuries after they were involved in a road traffic accident in Petauke district.

The five who include as a seven year old boy , are admitted to Kalindawalo General hospital in Petauke district.

The accident occurred when a BMW , with eight passengers on board collided with a Mitsubishi Canter around 20:00 hours last evening.

Eastern Province Police Commanding officer ROBERTSON MWEEMBA says the accident occurred when the BMW was overtaking.

He said three juvenile passengers escaped unhurt while the driver is among those that are in hospital.

Mr MWEEMBA however says the driver of the Mitsubishi Canter from Lusangazi district is on the run.

He said all the victims are from Petauke Showgrounds compound.
