500 Opposition Members Join UPND in Mandevu Constituency
About 500 opposition members from various political parties in Mandevu Constituency have joined the UPND.
This took place at a ceremony held in Roma Ward 20 in Lusaka, where Mandevu UPND aspiring candidate Jose Kasikili, Mandevu Constituency Chairman Henry Njovu, and other officials welcomed the new members.
Speaking at the ceremony, Constituency Chairman Henry Njovu said the UPND in the area is fulfilling the directive by its Party President Hakainde Hichilema to mobilize more members before the 2026 general elections.
Mr. Njovu explained that the UPND has become the party of choice for the people of Zambia, adding that more people would like to work with it.
Mr. Howard Banda, speaking on behalf of the defectors from the Patriotic Front, said the members are ready to work under the leadership of President Hichilema.
