5,000 litres of chemicals bought to fight fall army worms in CB
NAIS -Over five thousand litres of chemicals have been received by the Ministry of Agriculture on the Copperbelt province to control fall army worms.
The chemicals are meant to cater for over forty thousand hectares of maize fields in the province.
Copperbelt Provincial Agricultural Officer JULIUS MALIPA says so far half the number of districts have collected the chemicals for distribution to farmers.
Mr MALIPA has since urged agricultural extension officers in the province to be transparent and ensure all farmers benefit through respective cooperatives.
And Mufulira District Crops Officer BELINDA SICHAMBA says the chemicals will help in the early control of the fall army worms.
Ms SICHAMBA has since urged farmers not to sell the chemicals but put them to good use to secure household food security.
