61,646 Luapula farmers get inputs

Government has delivered farming inputs to 61,646 farmers in Luapula Province under the farmer input support program -FISP.
Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO told ZNBC News in Mansa that the Government has delivered 100 percent of all the farming inputs allocated to all the farmers in Luapula.
He said the inputs have been delivered on time to ensure that the farmers produce more than was produced in the 2023-2024 farming season.
Meanwhile, Mr MTOLO also disclosed that the government has also paid all the farmers that sold 93,000 metric tons of maize to the Food Reserve Agency.
He commended the farmers in the region for contributing immensely to the Country’s food basket.
And on a national level , the minister said 960,000 farmers have collected the inputs across the country.
