German Ambassador to Zambia ANNE WAGNER MITCHELLE says her country stands ready to continue supporting Zambia with immediate and effective adaptation measures to climate change.
Speaking during the climate change adaptation high level breakfast meeting in Lusaka today, Ms. MITCHELLE said as a stakeholder, the German government will utilise the climate risk analysis for adaptation planning in Zambia’s agricultural sector research.
She said the study provides useful information to help create effective adaptation strategies, as it comes at a crucial time when the country faces a crucial drought.
Meanwhile, Green Economy and Environment Permanent Secretary DOUTY CHIBAMBA said there is need to plan ahead and adopt climate smart techniques to prevent huge impacts for farmers in the coming seasons.
Dr. CHIBAMBA said Zambia values contributions that are aimed at helping the country overcome the drought that has affected many economic sectors.
