MPOMBO put to rest

Former Cabinet Minister GEORGE MPOMBO has been laid to rest at Chiwala Cemetery in Masaiti District on the Copperbelt.
Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA who represented President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, led other Cabinet ministers, Senior Government officials and former cabinet officials in laying wreaths at the burial site for the late Mr. MPOMBO.
Others present at Chiwala Cemetery, were Political advisor to the President LEVY NGOMA, traditional Leaders and UPND officials among others.
Mr. MPOMBO who served as Cabinet Minister between 2003 and 2009 is survived by nine children and 20 grandchildren.
Family Representative, MUSANDA CHALILAWILA, thanked President HICHILEMA for according Mr. MPOMBO, an official funeral.
He further appealed for help in the reproduction of the book authored by the late Dr. MPOMBO ‘titled” An Audacious Journey to support the welfare of the children.
Meanwhile, Speaking on the sidelines of the burial Ceremony in Masaiti, Former Education Minister BRIAN CHITUWO described the late Mr. MPOMBO as an advisor who never stopped learning and educating others.
