By Teverai Dzeka
Government says encroachment on Land belonging to ZAFFICO protected areas will not be allowed under the UPND administration.
Green Economy and Environment Minister, MIKE MPOSHA has urged ZAFFICO to work closely with his ministry to deal with any encroachment of its new plantations such as the one in Garneton in Kitwe and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe areas in Ndola.
Mr. MPOSHA issued the warning when he toured the ZAFFICO treatment plant in Kalulushi.
He said it is sad that officials at local councils on the Copperbelt are encouraging illegal settlements in protected areas and the new plantations.
And ZAFFICO Managing Director MUNDIA MUNDIA said the corporation is making huge investments into its production of poles.
He said this will help the firm not only to meet the local market but also the international market.
