Justice Minister, PRINCESS KASUNE has called for enhanced stakeholder participation in protecting the rights of children.
Ms KASUNE says most children in the country face many challenges which prevent them from enjoying their rights.
Speaking during the launch of the Child Justice week in Lusaka today, Ms KASUNE said the government has already put in place reforms and legislation aimed at protecting children from many vices such as early marriages.
And Acting Chief Justice MICHAEL MUSONDA expressed disappointment in the slow implementation of the children’s code act following its implementation in 2022.
Meanwhile, Family and Children’s Court Division Lady Justice MWAMBA CHANDA said Child Protection is a shared responsibility for all and further stressed the need to create a justice system that not only protects the children but nurtures their potential.
