The Lusaka Magistrates Court has scheduled November 8, 2024 for ruling on whether or not former Infrastructure and Housing Development Permanent Secretary CHARLES MUSHOTA has a case to answer.
This is over the charges of allegedly breaching law and procedure in procurement of a government building.
Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate SYLVIA MUNYINYA has scheduled the ruling date, following the closure of the case by the Anti-corruption Commission -ACC.
ACC Lawyer VIRGINIA TEMBO informed Magistrate MUNYINYA that the commission has closed the case due to the conclusion of cross examination of ACC Senior Investigations Officer MALALA CHIMFWEMBE.
Mrs. CHIMFWEMBE was being cross-examination by defence lawyer WYNTER KABIMBA who is also Economic Front –EF- party President.
This is in a matter where Mr. MUSHOTA is charged with willful failure to follow law and procedure, pertaining to the procurement of Infrastructure House at over five million dollars.
Infrastructure House, currently houses the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.
