Marriage should be between man and woman – HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensure that Zambia remains a Christian Nation.
President HICHILEMA has also called on the church to help in fostering decent marriages in the country, which he said should be between a man and woman in line with the Christian values.
He said this during the official celebration of the 2024 National Day of prayers, Fasting, repentance and reconciliation in Kitwe at Nkana Stadium.
President HICHILEMA also described the drought experienced in the country as a wakeup call for people to not only depend on rains but also engage in irrigation among other survival measures to sustain livelihoods.
He has since given the church 60 cows and TWO bulls as a seed which he hopes will multiply and champion God’s work.
The President also urged the church to foster both social and political dialogue for Peace, social and economic development.
President HICHILEMA reiterated the need for people to promote peace, unity and hard work because God commanded hard work.
And the Head of State said government will continue to develop and implement policies aimed at bettering the lives of Zambians.
Earlier, Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO said government stands ready to foster development by working with the church, traditional Leaders and general populace.
And Kitwe District Interdenominational Committee Chairperson Bishop RADDY LEWILLA called on Zambians to use the National Day of prayer and fasting as an Opportunity to reflect and renew the faith and understanding of God’s will on Zambia.
National Day of prayers and fasting organizing Committee National Representative MAX MBEWE called for a mindset change and appreciation of the times and season to foster development and hard work.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader for the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy -MMD- Dr. NEVERS MUMBA said the country is currently facing a number of challenges that need God’s intervention.
