“Engage more historians to write books”
By Christopher Miti
The Zambia Association of Freedom Fighters in the Eastern province has appealed to the government to engage more historians to write books about the country’s independence struggle.
Association Vice Chairperson, ANDERSON ZULU says the country’s independence history can only be preserved through the writing of books.
Mr ZULU has explained that people should be able to know the freedom fighters in each of the country’s 10 provinces.
Speaking in an interview with ZNBC in Chipata, Mr ZULU noted that the independence history books should be stored in museums in all the provinces.
And another freedom fighter, NEVERS PAKAPAKA stated that Zambians have a huge responsibility to protect the country’s rich heritage.
Mr PAKAPAKA said the 60th Independence Anniversary is an opportunity for Zambians to affirm their love for the country.
