Copper Princesses bow out of world cup with a goal

The Under 17 Copper Princesses have lost by 4 goals to 1 to Japan in their final group match of the ongoing Under 17 women’s world cup.
The girls were eliminated after consecutive defeats against Brazil and Poland in the opening 2 matches.
And speaking after the team’s loss, Coach CAROL KANYEMBA said the girls had difficulty finding the back of the net and missed a lot of scoring opportunities.
KANYEMBA has however expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance after scoring a goal in the last game.
She said despite the loss and elimination, the tournament has been a good experience adding that they will improve on their striking force and reinforce the midfield.
Meanwhile, Defender SALIYAH MWANZA said the team missed a lot of scoring opportunities, but emphasized that the way forward is to work harder and work together as a team.
