DEC Seizes 700kg Cannabis, Arrests 13

The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has seized over 700 kilograms of high-grade cannabis and arrested 13 suspects.

DEC Public Relations Officer ALLAN TAMBA says among those arrested is a 35-year-old Tanzanian national who was caught with 335 pre-packs of cannabis weighing over 400 kilograms concealed in duvets.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. TAMBA revealed that the operation also led to the arrest of three additional suspects for trafficking in dry loose cannabis.

On the other hand, a joint task force has seized 4,695 liters of fuel in an illegal fuel vending operation.
