UNICEF calls for investment in Early Childhood Development

The United Nations Children’s Fund- UNICEF- has called for increased investment in Early Childhood Development with a focus on reaching rural areas.
UNICEF Education Officer for Early Childhood Education GIBSON NCHIMUNYA highlighted that the key principle of ECD is to leave no child behind.
Speaking when the Parliamentary Caucus on Children visited Chigombe Community Hub- Insaka in Chongwe, Mr. NCHIMUNYA emphasized the need to build alliances with Members of Parliament to ensure Early Childhood Development centers reach every district.
Meanwhile, Chembe Member of Parliament CLIFF MPUNDU commended the initiative and looked forward to it being replicated nationwide.
And, Chibombe Center Committee Chairperson LEWIS CHIBOMBE said the Early Childhood Development program has brought significant improvement to children and the community.
