“Help fight poverty “

Chasefu Town Council has advised beneficiaries of Constituency Development Fund grants to find ways on how they can contribute to poverty reduction.

Council Public Relations Officer VERNON MUWEMA says the increment of CDF is meant to improve peoples’ living standards.

Mr MUWEMA was speaking when he visited Surag Savings and Credit group which benefitted from the CDF grants in 2022.

The group received 3,000 Kwacha in 2022 but has multiplied it to 117,000 Kwacha.

Group Secretary REBECCA MTONGA is grateful to government for considering her group.

Meanwhile, Kapilisanga Ward Councillor SALOMO MKANDAWIRE says the group has also been given a 20,000 Kwacha grant this year.

Mr MKANDAWIRE says the group is expected to maintain its prudent utilisation of the fund.
