Lusambo reported to police over house deal
Police are investigating former Lusaka Province Minister BOWMAN LUSAMBO for obtaining 850,000 Kwacha by false pretences involving an alleged fraudulent property sale.
Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says the case involves Zambezi East Member of Parliament BRIAN KAMBITA who wanted to buy the property in question from Mr. LUSAMBO.
Mr. HAMOONGA says Mr. LUSAMBO allegedly obtained 8-hundred and 50 thousand Kwacha under the pretext of selling the house to Mr. KAMBITA.
He says the house is situated in Silverest, Plot No. 28473/M, Subdivision A288.
Mr. HAMOONGA says the alleged transaction occurred between August 23, 2024, and September 12, 2024, in Lusaka.
Mr. HAMOONGA says Mr. KAMBITA made an initial payment of 400,000 Kwacha on August 23, 2024, with a final instalment of 450,000 Kwacha made on September 12, 2024,.
Mr. HAMOONGA has told ZNBC NEWS that after the payments of the whole amount , the title deed was however not delivered as promised .
He said after several follow ups, Mr. KAMBITA was informed that the property had issues with the Anti-Corruption Commission and could not be legally sold.
