ZNS seizes 250 bags of Eagle mealie meal from foreigner

Zambia National Service -ZNS- has seized 250 bags by 25 kilograms bags of Eagle’s mealie-meal, found in possession of two foreign nationals without a valid vendor’s license.

The two suspects have since been detained at North Gate Police Station in Lusaka’s Garden area after being found with a large consignment of the Eagle’s mealie-meal.

The incident followed a tip off from the public.

And, ZNS Commander Lieutenant General MALITI SOLOCHI has warned unscrupulous business operators against abusing ZNS’s initiative to provide fairly priced mealie-meal to the public.

General SOLOCHI has condemned those buying in bulk and illegally repackaging for personal gain.

Meanwhile, One of the suspects, MUGISHA MAZIE-VIANNEY, admitted to repackaging bulk mealie-meal into smaller bags for the black market.
