HELSB awards additional loans to 900 students at CBU

The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board -HELSB- has awarded additional loans to over Nine hundred students at Copperbelt University-CBU for the 2024/2025 academic year.

In a statement issued to ZNBC News today, HELSB Manager Corporate Communications and Customer Services CHISELWA KAWANDA said an additional one hundred and three students have been awarded loans at Mukuba University.

Ms. KAWANDA said at CBU, HELSB received over ten thousand six hundred applications, with over nine thousand nine hundred applicants meeting the eligibility criteria.

She added that over three thousand five hundred were awarded loans in October with the total number of loans now standing at over 4-thousand five hundred.

Ms. KAWANDA further said the additional loans  have been made possible through alternative funding sources.
