The Zambia Youths Association in the Fight Against Corruption has welcomed government’s continued efforts to recover assets deemed to be proceeds of crime.
Association Executive Director ELEMIJUS MWAMBA says the forfeiture of assets linked to former President EDGAR LUNGU’s daughter, TASILA, is timely.
Mr. MWAMBA says the fight against corruption must target both past and current administrations to yield meaningful results and encourage wider public participation.
He has told ZNBC News that recent actions should serve as a warning to public officials to act with integrity as no one is above the law.
Mr. MWAMBA has also urged government to channel recovered resources toward supporting vulnerable groups, including youths and the elderly.
He says part of the recovered resources should be used to expand the bursary scheme to assist young people in need of sponsorship.
