PPP’S key to climate change mitigation- Mutti
BY CAREN MWAKA
Speaker of the National Assembly NELLY MUTTI says public private partnerships are essential to mitigating climate change.
Mrs. MUTTI says the Plant a Tree challenge call will see 2,000 trees planted across the country for a greener landscape.
She said this during the launch of a tree planting initiative in Chongwe today, noting that such responses contribute to sustainable practices that mitigate climate change.
This was in a speech delivered on her behalf by First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly MALUNGO CHISANGANO at Chalimbana University in Chongwe.
Meanwhile, Green Economy and Environment Forestry Director SITWALA WAMUNYIMA, who represented Minister of Green Economy and Environment MIKE MPOSHA said government has put in place forest management measures that will help to address climate change.
And Chongwe District Commissioner EVANS LUPIYA, on behalf of Minister of Lands and Natural Resources SYLVIA MASEBO, said there is need for global interventions to help address climate change issues in the country.
