449 people defect to UPND

Over 449 members of the opposition PF and other political parties in Kasenengwa District have defected to the ruling UPND.

The defectors who were drawn from various wards said they have decided to join the ruling party because they are impressed with the UPND’s performance.

One of the defectors, WIZAS NGOMA from Mpunza area, said he is touched with the good leadership exhibited by President Hakainde Hichilema.

And CLEVER MITI from Chingazi ward said the UPND government has stabilized the country.

Meanwhile Eastern Province UPND chairperson JOHABIE MTONGA who received the defectors, said the coming of new members is a clear testimony that people appreciate the policies of the UPND government.

Mr MTONGA highlighted a number of programmes that the government has put in place to improve the living standards of the people.

He appealed to those entrusted with the responsibility of writing beneficiaries of government programmes not to be biased.
