Chikote commissions 58 kw Solar Micro Grid project Chama

Energy Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE has commissioned the 58 kilowatt Manga Solar Micro Grid project in Chikwa area of Chama District.
The Solar Micro Grid project has been implemented at a cost of over 18.5 million kwacha by World Vision.
Mr. CHIKOTE says the Rural Electrification Authority -REA- should take interest in the electricity projects being implemented by stakeholders to ensure their sustainability.
And World Vision Country Director MARC NOSBACH said the project is part of the broader Chikwa Wash energy project that will be implemented in four places.
And Eastern Province minister PETER PHIRI urged the local people to safeguard the infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Chipata Diocese Auxiliary Bishop GABRIEL MSIPU appealed to the government to attend to the roads and crossing points in Chama South.
And Chief CHIKWA and Chama South member of DAVISON MUNG’ANDU commended the government for transforming the area.
