CHIKOTE: Solar development needs private collaboration

Energy Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE says government is committed to collaborating with the private sector to implement various solar projects in the country.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Director Energy ARNOLD SIMWABA, Mr. CHIKOTE said the projects are part of the measures to address the current power challenges facing the nation.
This was during the 2024 Green Zambia Summit in Lusaka.
Mr. CHIKOTE also praised China Jiangsu International for completing the construction of 111 Kilowatt solar project.
Meanwhile China Jiangsu International Managing Director YAHUA BILL stated that the company will continue to promote solar energy to help address Zambia’s energy deficit.
