Elephant claims another life in Livingstone
By Moombe Haamobola
A man of Livingstone’s Dambwa Site and Service has been killed by an elephant.
PRINCE MANGONO, a security guard at a nearby Garage told ZNBC News that around 02:00 hours this morning, he heard noises and later found elephants in the area.
Mr. MANGONO says shortly after, he saw two men heading the same direction where the animals were and he warned them about the elephants but that they ignored him.
He explains that as the two men proceeded, one of them was attacked and killed by an elephant.
When contacted for a comment, Southern Province Police Chief AUXENSIO DAKA and Department of National Parks and Wildlife Senior Wildlife Warden South Region, WILFRED MOONGA, said they had not yet received full reports on the matter.
In June this year a 64-year-old US tourist was killed by an elephant. And in September another man from Dambwa North was killed by an elephant.
