US has not suspended financial support

The US government has denied reports that it has suspended financial support for Zambia’s anti-corruption initiatives.
This comes after media reports emerged that the donor community has suspended funding for anti-corruption programmes in Zambia.
In a statement to ZNBC news, US Embassy in Zambia Public Affairs Officer PHIL DIMON said fighting corruption remains a top priority for the US government in Zambia.
Mr. DIMON said the US government has been a key supporter of Zambia’s anti-corruption efforts, providing funding and technical assistance to help the country tackle corruption and improve governance.
He said the Embassy is urging the public to disregard the false reports circulating.
