The Lusaka Magistrate Court has adjourned to January 2, 2025, trial in a matter where opposition Forum for Democracy and Development -FDD- Leader EDITH NAWAKWI is charged with two counts of seditious practices.
This follows an application by her lawyers on the grounds that Ms. NAWAKWI who was scheduled to appear in court today is unwell.
Her surety, Milenge Member of Parliament CHONDE SAKA also told Principal Resident Magistrate IRENE WISHIMANGA that Ms. NAWAKWI is unwell and has opened up her home should there be need for court visitation.
In count one, it is alleged that between May 25 and 28, 2024, Ms NAWAKWI uttered seditious words to bring dissatisfaction against the Government.
In count two, Ms. NAWAKWI on the same dates allegedly uttered seditious words which were aimed at raising discontent among the people of Zambia.
